STUDENTS REBUILD HEALING CLASSROOMS CHALLENGE
F.J. B. is entered in the STUDENTS REBUILD HEALING
CLASSROOM CHALLENGE. This is a social justice
outreach project through the International Rescue Committee and
the Global Nomads Group. This challenge is a creative call to action.
This is not a fundraising initiative but rather a gift of time which results
in the funding for displaced Syrian children. We are all aware of
the huge refugee crisis. This outreach project is one way to respond
as a Caritas Community. The challenge involves the making of paper
pinwheels.
The Bezos Family Foundation will match each pinwheel made
with $2 - up to $400,000 to support the International
Rescue Committees's Healing Classrooms program.
This challenge goes out to all in our Brennan Community.
I challenge all to make 2 pinwheels each. It takes less than
10 minutes to make a pinwheel and it is a simple task that could yield
great results for those in need.
Classes challenge other classes. Sports teams challenge other sports teams!
Administration and support staff challenge the teaching staff!
Which group/class can make the most pinwheels. Remember if you
enter the challenge as a class/group, everyone in the group needs to make
at least one pinwheel.
Pinwheels will be displayed in the main hall.
Group sessions and instruction will be available - stay tuned!
Let's do this!!!
Now accepting donations of gift wrap, card making paper colored photo
copy paper, small scissors, glue sticks, stickers and ribbon.
GO CARDS!
